Friendships aren’t always smooth sailing, but there is no doubt that the stories behind the ups and downs make them worthwhile. In the latest TVC for Cadbury P.S. bar Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg, sensitively illustrates a story of two friends.

MTN – Space

In their latest TV commercial MTN takes us through a tale of curiosity and wonder as a young boy discovers, through trial and error, that it is possible to build an amateur radio that enables him to talk to an astronaut in space. Put together by the guys at MetropolitanRepublic, at the heart of the ad is the message that the internet and technology can enable self-learning and discovery in children. Great ad guys.


 

Discovery – For Good Drivers

Had a good chuckle at what I thought was a new TVC by BMW, but it turned out to be none other than Discovery featuring their insurance rewards programme for safe drivers. Appreciation goes to the personally loved brand and the agency that put this one together.


 

Dial Direct – The Notebook

Agency: Joe Public (Jhb)

Date: 11 January 2015

Watch how Joe Public and Dial Direct tug on your heart strings in this new TVC. The commercial illustrates how precious time is and concludes that Dialdirect won’t waste yours.

The ad – supported with a new corporate identity, payoff line and brand strategy – marks a new positioning for the brand with the message ‘insurance made easy’.

I found that this concept is both an emotional and touching story that everyone can relate to in the fast-paced world we live in, where time has become a precious commodity.
